Privacy Policy
Overview
Soundwall is a music studio for Meta Quest headsets. It records and plays audio entirely on your device. This policy explains what data the app handles and how it is used.
Data Collection
Soundwall does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. The app:
- Does not collect analytics or telemetry
- Does not track usage or behaviour
- Does not require an account or registration
- Does not use advertising or third-party SDKs that collect data
Network Activity
Soundwall has no network access of any kind. The app does not
request the Android INTERNET permission, so it is incapable of
making a network connection — there is no server for it to contact, and no
data can leave your device even in principle.
Microphone
Soundwall requests microphone access so you can record singing, speech, or an instrument into a loop track or sampler slot. This works with the headset's built-in microphone or a USB microphone you connect yourself.
Audio is captured only while you have the microphone enabled and are recording. Recorded audio is held in memory and written to storage only as part of a project you save or a mixdown you export. It is never transmitted anywhere.
Camera and Passthrough
Soundwall can draw its instruments over a view of your room using Meta's passthrough feature. That view is composited by the headset's own system software. The app never receives, processes, or stores camera images.
MIDI Devices
If you connect a USB MIDI keyboard or controller, Soundwall reads note and control messages from it in order to play sound and to let you map controls. Nothing about the device or your playing is transmitted off the headset.
Data Stored on Your Device
Soundwall stores the following locally on your device only:
- Projects — your sequencer patterns, loop recordings, and instrument settings, saved to the app's private storage when you use a save slot
- Mixdowns — WAV files you export, written to the
Music/SoundWallfolder on the headset's internal storage so you can copy them to a computer - Samples — any audio you record into a sampler slot, saved as part of the project it belongs to
This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to Rabbit Hole Solutions Inc. or any third party.
Data Deletion
All data created by Soundwall resides locally on your device. You can delete it at any time by:
- Within the app — overwrite or clear a save slot, or delete individual loop tracks
- Removing exported files — delete WAV files from the
Music/SoundWallfolder using the headset's Files app or over USB - Clearing app data — Settings > Apps > Soundwall > Clear Data
- Uninstalling the app — removes all projects and app-private data completely
Note that mixdowns exported to Music/SoundWall are ordinary files
in your headset's shared storage and are not removed when the
app is uninstalled; delete them separately if you want them gone.
No data is stored remotely, so there is nothing to request deletion of from our servers.
Children's Privacy
Soundwall does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated date. As the app does not collect contact information, users are encouraged to check this page periodically.
